Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 31055
Wrong error message when saving file without correct permissions
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:29:55 UTC
Hi, when you are trying to save the document in Writer/Calc/... to the location, where you do not have access rights (like I did, when I tried to save files to /file.sxw or /file.sxc on GNU/Linux), wrong error message is shown. See attached snapshots from both Writer and Cals from 1.1.2 English and also quite old 680 build. The error message is: "Error saving the document Untitled2: /file.sxw does not exist.". The message itself is true. There is no file with that name. But as I'm trying to save the file there, it should report something like: "Permission denied." or similar.

Problem has already been fixed and doesn´t occur in more recent builds like 680m54.
Errormessage now informs, that the permission was denied.
reopening. tm: no, in SRC680_m54, the same message is shown: Text[english] = "The path $(ARG1) does not exist";
TM->MAV: Please have a look, thanks.
TM->MAV: Still occurs in a 680m63, please have a look, thanks !
