Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 31379
Would like to see "Merge Cells" and "Split Cells" combined.
Last modified: 2008-05-17 23:52:23 UTC
To take up less space and to not have extra buttons on the toolbars, it would be nice to have the "merge cells" and the "split cells" buttons combine into one button.
Hi Bettina, one for you. Frank
It seems to me that this has been implemented in OOo 2.0. Should this be closed as fixed?
This is not done in 2.0.1. I have made a related suggestion: See Issue 61404.
Tested with OOo 2.0 and Dev 680m152, WinXP. Function has been implemented as originally described by this issue. Marking as Resolved- Fixed. Regards, Andrew
Excuse me, but I see two different buttons in 2.0.1 (One for splitting; the other for merging). Am I missing something?
->'raindrops', this issue relates to the Spreadsheet component. Your issue seems to be with Writer. It seems logical to me that tables in a word processor are treated slightly differently to a spreadsheet. Regards, Andrew
Yes, you are right; I WAS looking for this in Writer. Somehow I expected a uniform GUI in both calc and Writer for common features like this. (I do realize that the similarity might be superficial: The engines may be totally different.) BTW if this concept WAS found worth implementation, I don't see why they need to be treated differently in Calc and Writer. The OOo team should have cloned the issue for Writer too, without waiting for a specific demand for it in Writer. Thanks anyway!
The Issue you raised has been marked as 'Resolved' and not updated within the last 1 year+. I am therefore setting this issue to 'Verified' as the first step towards Closing it. If you feel this is incorrect, please re-open the issue and add any comments. As per previous posting: Verified -> Closed. A Closed Issue is a Happy Issue (TM). Regards, Andrew
