Description tinux 2004-09-19 14:19:53 UTC
If I select some text I often want to add something at the beginning or at the
end of the selection. In other software, if I press left-arrow, the cursor jumps
to the beginning of the selected section, if I press right-arrow it jumps to the
end.
In OOo however the cursor stays always at the end.
I use OOo 1.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.3.5

1) select some text
2) press left-arrow-key -> expected behaviour: cursor jumps to beginning of
selection, text is deselected.
-> actual behaviour: cursor stays at the end of selection and moves one
character to the left.

This is default X11 behaviour. It still happens in OOo2.0. When OOo gets built for Mac OS X natively the
problem will be fixed.

Confirming this issue. Later in Aqua port this will be fixed.
Comment 4 Graham Perrin 2008-09-28 10:42:00 UTC
This bug, or something very similar, remains in release candidate 2 of OOo 3.

 1. select a word

  — cursor places itself at the right-hand end of the word

 2. press the left key.

= Expected =

Cursor should place itself at the beginning of the word.

= Bug =

Cursor moves only one character away from the right-hand end of the word.

= Priority =

Very surprising, very odd behaviour. IMO the priority should be raised, to P2.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
