Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 34506
Cutting a closed curve with an open one
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:37:42 UTC
Currently cutting a closed curve with an open one already produces "something", but nothing which I'd consider especially useful. This would be a nifty feature which could easily be implemented, by interpreting an open curved as two closed ones. Then intersect each of this two temporary closed curves with the given closed curve, keep this two intersections and throw away all the original curves. Presto you are done - with nearly no additional code. Here is how you get the temporary closed curves: - Think of the maximum drawing area as a rectangle (dotted blue line) - the startpoint and endpoint of the (black) open curve define a straight line - from two segments of this line (green), the original open curve and the maximum drawing area, you get two complementary shapes (one shown in light blue)
