Description fper 2004-10-10 16:59:15 UTC
It's only possible to use predefined presets colors, there's no option to create
new ones quickly.
New colors can only be defined with this hard way :
Tools->Options->OpenOffice.org->Colors.
-> solution : put a new choice wich allow to define colors directly in the
button "letter color" of the toolbar.

You can define your own colors and palettes. Draw a square and then choose
format ->Area and there the register 'colors'. There you can edit colors, define
new colors and load and save palettes. What you do there, is available everywhere.
But your right, that it not obvious.
Similar subjects have been discussed in issue 11098, 16217, 27722, 27727 and 33392.

ooh ok, isn't it possible to just add the same function in "format" menu too but
when working on a text ?
If it's just add a link it should'nt be too time consuming ? Is there some work
on this for 2.0 ?

Thanks for your help,

For a more long term work (see my last message for short term enhancement), I've
found a NVU screnshoot : http://info.linspire.com/nvu/numods/colorPicker.png
It has a nice presentation...

Duplicate of 20105.

To manage the many suggestions for enhancing the color palette, I have created a
meta-issue here:
Issue 105642 - Re-design and UI improvements for color palettes (meta-issue)

The purpose of the new issue is for management only, it does not duplicate
specific design requests (that we wish to capture).

Many thanks,
Andrew
