Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 35489
Compare documents dialog has a wrong dialog heading
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Open a document in OO.o writer Go to Edit > Compare Documents > The dialog box comes up ... Its heading is 'Insert' and the button has text 'Insert' on it. This is a bit confusing. The heading should be 'Compare to...' and the button text 'Compare' Further, the dialog that comes up after comparison should be more informative. 'The results of the comparison are...' etc.. Please see to it.
MRU->LIZ: the dialog title is technically correct in a way, but not very intuitive. Maybe it should be named "Compare to" as proposed.
Liz->BH: This valid issue (related to collaboration work users do) constitutes an enhancement, not a defect. I changed the type accordingly and am assigning it to you for evaluation. I hope you are the correct recipient, if not please reassign. The Compare Document feature needs to be made more usable and therefore requires a redesign in a feature specification document. MMP has volunteered to be on the iTeam. Liz->aparan: Thanks for pointing this out. The design team has it's eye on this dialog and would like to redo it for the next release. It is too late to add more features to this release (OO.o 2.0), therefore targeted to Office Later.
