Description borszczuk 2004-10-16 15:31:13 UTC
There's no way to determine (i.e. by watching any "properties" or so dialog) if
given image is embeeded into OOo document or just linked (and what's the file
path for it). There shall be an option to find this out (not to mention that
window containing list of document images, with note which one is embeeded and
which is linked) would be much helpful. Additionally there shall be and option
to to mark all the linked images visually (i.e. small anchor icon, or so in the
corner).

You have at least this ways to see it
(1) Edit - Links...
(2) single-click on graphic, then context or format-graphics, then tab
'Graphics' part 'Link'
(3) Navigator. The linked graphic has got a tooltip with path, an embedded
graphic doesn't has it.

For other modules than writer see issue 15683.
Comment 3 borszczuk 2004-10-16 18:13:23 UTC
As for workarounds you gave: "(1) Edit - Links..." - not really useful if more
links are in the documents. Imagine 100 *identical* (or very close) images. Some
linked, some embeeded. Edit - Links won't help you find out which one is which.

"(2) single-click on graphic, then context or format-graphics, then tab
'Graphics' part 'Link'" - Does not show up in Impress (1.1.2 - so I may infos
may be outdated).

Generally I really mean somethinng image related - an option invokable via image
context menu.

TM->BH: This one is more a wish for a feature or an enhancement than a defect.
Please have a look.
