Description jmills 2002-03-22 16:02:01 UTC
IF the document has an entry in File->properties which describes the contents
of the file, OOo displays this as

TheTitleText - OpenOffice 641

However it is then very difficult to work out which file this belongs to
if you are working on a number of files with the same title string!

Please can we have the filename AND the title displayed, eg

fred.sxw - TheTitleText - OpenOffice 641 for example.

Or TheTitleText - fred.sxw - OpenOffice 641

This is way too confusing!
And: If someone uses the same(!) titles for different documents than
he will get in quite some trouble once he uses any document management
systems.

Ooops, I forgot that we IMHO opinion behave wrong here:
We need to change our behavior to display the document _title_ in the
caption bar.
We should display the _file_name_ within the caption bar instead.
I stronly disagree with the idea of displaying title _and_ file name
since this will result in quite confusing (or doubling) caption bar
tiltles.

KA=>MBA: this seems to be a Framework related task, doesn't it?
Comment 11 Mathias_Bauer 2003-12-09 16:17:23 UTC
I absolutely agree with the requested enhancement. It's time to remove another
"Marco" residue... :-)
Comment 12 Mathias_Bauer 2004-04-30 14:10:37 UTC
There is a new specification available that defines how the title should look,
and it also covers the current issue, so I set it to "duplicate".
