Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3631
Filename missing from window title stripe
Last modified: 2004-05-01 14:36:02 UTC
IF the document has an entry in File->properties which describes the contents of the file, OOo displays this as TheTitleText - OpenOffice 641 However it is then very difficult to work out which file this belongs to if you are working on a number of files with the same title string! Please can we have the filename AND the title displayed, eg fred.sxw - TheTitleText - OpenOffice 641 for example. Or TheTitleText - fred.sxw - OpenOffice 641
TM->FT: This one is a wish for an enhancement or a feature, so please have a look, thanks !

This is way too confusing! And: If someone uses the same(!) titles for different documents than he will get in quite some trouble once he uses any document management systems.

Ooops, I forgot that we IMHO opinion behave wrong here: We need to change our behavior to display the document _title_ in the caption bar. We should display the _file_name_ within the caption bar instead. I stronly disagree with the idea of displaying title _and_ file name since this will result in quite confusing (or doubling) caption bar tiltles.

Hello Kai, please have a lok at the comment from Falko, who evaluated this issue for Q. Please give approval for this evaluated OO.o 2.0 flagged issue. If you confirm with the target OO.o 2.0, then please keep it on your owner (or the owner of the concerning developer) for implementation. In case of 'OOo Later' or 'Wontfix' please reset it on Bettina's owner. Thank you.
KA=>MBA: this seems to be a Framework related task, doesn't it?
I absolutely agree with the requested enhancement. It's time to remove another "Marco" residue... :-)
There is a new specification available that defines how the title should look, and it also covers the current issue, so I set it to "duplicate". *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 20125 ***
messy IZ status of NEW DUPLICATE, resolving duplicate again *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 20125 ***
closing duplicate.
