Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 37095
Wrong collecting of endnotes in nested sections
Last modified: 2013-10-09 14:50:30 UTC
If there's a section B inside a section A I want to be able to collect the endnotes of both at the end of section A. I check the "endnote collect at end of section" of section A and I unchecked the one of section B but it didn't work. The endnotes of section B are still sollected by B itself, not by A. In the bug document there's a description how I managed it to get the wished result. But after save and reload the problem occurs again.

I request to assign priority 1 to this issue and resolve it asap. The problem prevents me from finishing a long document for a publication. My situation is as follows: I have a long document with several pages of endnotes and want to attach an alphabetical index after the end notes. To do this, I defined the text part as section with endnotes collected at the end of the section. So far so good. Now, parts of the text have to have two columns. OpenOffice automatically opens subsections for these parts with the same properties as the main section. This leads to the problem that endnotes partly appear at the end of the subsection instead of at the end of the main section. The option “collect endnotes at the end of the section” cannot be switched off for the subsection. This means an alphabetical index cannot be attached to the document, or the endnotes are spread all over the document.

same problem
Same for me. Like relgis12, I have a document with two columns. And I was able to reproduce ama behavior with his attached doc.
I'm seeing this issue with endnotes in nested sections in OpenOffice 4.0.1. They insist on appearing at the end of the (inner) nested section and the tick box labelled 'Collect at end of section' keeps reverting to having a tick, even though I remove the tick because I don't want the endnotes at the end of that nested section.
