It would be nice to be able to do a vertical select by holding down the Alt key
as you can do in Microsoft Word.

e.g.

This is one line
Here is the next

You would be able to click next to the 'o' of one, press and hold the Alt key
and then when you draw down with the mouse it would select "one line\nthe next"
missing out "Here is"
and if you clicked next to the 't' of the and went up (while holding Alt)It
would select "This is \nHere is "
