Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 37568
Inverted screen colors - Scrolling zoomed inverted screen makes really ugly aliasing artifacts!
Last modified: 2005-06-23 23:16:10 UTC
When scrolling an outline in zoomed mode with inverted screen colors, inside the small framed text blocks used for outline numbering, sometimes one or more horizontal lines appear, apparently due to inexact screen updates. The horizontal lines disappear or change depending on scrolling. They do not appear when scrolling by Page Up/Down keys, nor when clicking in the scroll bar page up/down areas, but only when the thumb in the scrollbar is dragged quickly up and down (and not always then). Similar vertical bars appear when scrolling sideways quickly by dragging thumb in the horizontal scrollbar. I am using a Dell Inspiron 7.5K, 128MB RAM, fast 2D laptop display, RH9 / WindowMaker, Japanese mode, Japan local version of OOo 1.1.2. It would seem that the screen update routine decides to stay dirty in order to display more quickly in response to quick user interface events, but even so it should then refresh the screen after dragging to clean things up. The horizontal lines only happen inside these little text block frames. The lines are visible because I have changed my screen to green on black (otherwise, *wonderful*!) Maybe this is a problem that doesn't show up unless you make your screen green on black in the Options dialog.
reassigned to SBA.
Hi mrosin, 1.1.2 is too old, can you reproduce this also with a latest milestone build? http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html Also please note that RH 9 is a little antique, so you might not be working with the latest windowmanager release. Thanks, Max
@mrosin: Could you answer the questions here, please? It would help us to reproduce your errors here and I think that is what you want us to do ... ;)
Hello and sorry not to be able to participate so much. I am now using 1.9.79 snapshot now and have not reproduced this problem to my best recall, but if I see it again I will reopen. I think you can close for now if you are not seeing the same thing with green on black background and serif fonts. You are right my RH9 is probably too old as well. I'll look at other issues too. Regards, Matt
@mrosin: It should be possible to close issue yourself ... Your are the reporter of this issue ... ;)
