Description richlv 2004-12-13 10:18:03 UTC
see attached files. visio object is imported, but it looks slightly different
than in msoffice. (i'll file one issue on all differences - have no idea how
related are they)

1. visio_object.doc -> visio_word.png and visio_writer.png
a) different background colour - which one (word or writer) did get it right ? :
)
b) all rounded objects are drawn with straight lines - see arrows and rounded
corners of some textboxes;
c) arrow colour differs;
d) at least for me writer somehow loses file location upon opening - it shows no
location in file->properties, title is shown as untitled1 (and opening the
document again it's untitled2 etc). if this could not be reproduced, i'll try to
test different scenarios.

oo.org 1.1.3 has all the text garbled etc, but it get's rounded objects
correctly.

2. visio_object.xls -> visio_excel.png and visio_calc.png

a) arrow colour differs;
b) see horizontal arrow (~ at position c18) - it's positioned and sized slightly
differently in calc than in excel.

calc has those rounded objects imported & displayed correctly.

TM->MRU: Please have a look.
Comment 9 michael.ruess 2005-01-28 09:17:12 UTC
The "background color" you can see in Word is not a real background. Word
displays all OLE objects like this, to distinguish them from normal graphics. In
Word's print, preview it will nor be visible anymore (and also not printed).

(Un-)slanted arrow sybols is a bug.

The arrow color looks quite equal to me...

the "untitled" eror in title bar has already been fixed in 680m71.
Comment 10 michael.ruess 2005-01-28 09:19:23 UTC
MRU->SJ: there should be slanted corners on the arrow objects in the metafile.
BTW: can you see any difference in color of the objects? Maybe I'm color blind,
I cannot...

ouch. i used msoffice on another computer. it had a crt monitor (old one), linux
machine had an lcd. at that crt arrows seemed to be almost yellow.
sorry about that :)

sj->thb: The only difference to msoffice is missing antialiasing. Therefore youe
are already having a feature request I think. So this issue is most probably
double to another bug. I set the Issue type to feature and the target to OOo
later, since this feature will not make it into OOo2.0. I also changed the title
to better identify this issue.
Comment 13 richlv 2005-01-28 10:31:36 UTC
antialiasing is responsible for these rounded corners & arrows ?
and why are they displayed the same as in msword in 1.1.3 ?
Comment 14 bjoern.milcke 2006-03-27 15:49:21 UTC
->THB: I just noticed there is Issue 28526 which is on user "requirements" and
has no target and 75 votes! Maybe you should consider to set this one to
duplicate of the other issue (because of the votes) and adapt the target. BTW.,
a target "OOo 3.0" would look better than "OOo Later" ;-)
Comment 15 thb 2006-03-27 15:58:01 UTC
@bm: this is not only about antialiasing (it seems there are also some bezier
curves missing).
Comment 16 richlv 2006-03-27 16:22:26 UTC
i checked all problems i had listed myself and it seems that they are resolved
(at least in m158 :) )

rounded shapes are rounded as they need to be. objects are slightly differently
aligned in excel screenshot than they are in calc (still true in m158). but i
am not sure wether this can be considered a problem
Comment 17 thb 2006-03-27 16:30:18 UTC
Excellent. Then, indeed, this one is duplicate.

And closing.
