Description djago 2004-12-13 20:05:27 UTC
In field theory there's a notation for some symbols combination called
contraction. It's a line on top of the symbols (let's say, %phi and %psi) that
starts from the middle of one of the symbols, goes up a little, then it's like
an "overline" (opposing to underline) that goes to the other symbol, then goes
down a little (like a ] but on top and the tips starts in the middle of the
signs). These contractions can start from anywhere in the line and go to
anywhere (I mean, it can have other symbols in between).
If it's not clear I can make you a drawing. :D

reassigned to BH. Another extension of the symbol library could be nice.
