Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 39073
Enable import of multiple image files at once (with auto-alignment)
Last modified: 2006-02-16 18:56:35 UTC
Hello Writer-Team, I often create Writer files which consists of multiple images. These images are diagrams created by third party tools. I have up to 100 very similar images, of same format and size. Currently I have to insert these files once by once, using Insert-Graphics-From file. The file appears each time in the middle of the page, even if there is already an other image placed. Then I have to move them manualy to a free place on the page. I would sugest the following enhancement: Allow it to select multiple files in the Insert-Graphics file dialog. If the user selet only one file, all should work as it does now. If the user select more than one file, OOo shoud show a second dialog which provides some choices for an auto-alignment of the images. This dialog could look similar to the Insert slide dialog of impress. The user should have the choice between alignment templates like: -One Image in original image size per page -One full-screen image per page -All images (scaled down)in a grid on the current page -Two images scaled to page height on each page (beside each other) -Two images scaled to page width on each page (on top of each other) -Grid of 4 images per page ... Such a feature would shorten my workflow significant. Hope this helps to improve OOo Regards Jörg Wartenberg
