Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3920
Column borders in sections display even when Text Boundaries are turned off
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:23 UTC
There doesn't appear to be a way to turn column boarders off. If I turn off the View/Text Boards all the text boarders but the column ones turn off. Seems to me it should. This makes true WYSIWYG not possible (other than page preview).
Sepehr, thanks for posting this issue. With OOo 1.0.1, when I turn off "Text Boundaries" in the View menu, all of the column borders disappear. Feel free to reopen this issue if the problem still exists. Thank you for using and supporting OOo.
I just upgraded to 1.0.1 and still have the same issue. Let me submit and picture.
Created attachment 2982 [details] Notice that I have text boarders off yet the column still has boarders shown.
User comment Column boards don't turn off Duplicated on Win NT 4.0 SP6a, OOo 643. 1. Open new text doc. 2. Insert->Section 3. Go to Columns tab and change number of columns to 2. 4. View->Text Boundaries. Make sure it is disabled. Note the text boundaries for the columns inside the section still display.
If you go to Tools-Options-OpenOffice.org-Appearance, you will find "Section boundaries" in the Text Document section. Uncheck it and be happy :-) SBA->EM: The string "Text boundaries" in the writer menu is a little misleading. IMHO "document boundaries" would be better because that's the name in Tools-options-OO.org-Appearance-General.
Changed Prio to 4.
SBA: At times, Elisabeth has "liz@openoffice.org". Reassigned.
Liz->SBA: I'll look into this.
I'm targeting this to Beta
EM->CJ: Please change the text in the custom colors spec as noted below and then send this issue to OS. The text appears under Tools-Options-OpenOffice.org-Appearance. Why change it? --to match View - Text Boundaries [KeyId 169491], which is BTW what MS Word also calls it under tools/options/view. GERMAN Dokumentumrandung -> Textbegrenzungen ENGLISH (I changed in LT DB already) Document boundaries -> Text boundaries KeyId 161143 Language English PRJ svx Filename source\options\optcolor.src Build SRX644 GID RID_SVXPAGE_COLORCONFIG.CT_COLORCONFIG.WN_SCROLL LID CB_DOCBOUND Type checkbox I decided to make this change rather than the other way around, because the Tools - Options - Appearance entry "Document boundaries" is not exactly right, since it is indeed the edge of the text area that is marked, not the edge of the "paper" which in reality is the "document".
I've updated the spec. Reassigned to Oliver.
I'll take care for this.
