Description srgdrz 2004-12-22 13:11:34 UTC
I would like to suggest to reduce significantly the size of the "Find & Replace"
menu, in fact it cover frequently the cells and you need to close and open it
everytime.

I suggest:

1. to put "find" and "replace with" in 2 different tab (see MSOffice);
2. to put all option in an "option" botton;

Besides i think it will be useful:

1. to make a "Find" Toolbar where you can insert in a space the word that you
are looking for;
2. to add in the possible "Find" Toolbar an "highlight search terms" bottom
(like in the Google toolbar in Mozilla Firefox Browser).

Thanks...

Not only could the widget be reduced in size, especially vertically, but there
is also a lot of wasted space that could be used to show functions that are only
available under the More Options button. For example, the Search All Sheets,
Backwards, and Current Selection options could be moved to the main widget.

That would be nice.
Btw, "current selection only" should be checked by default if there's a range
selected: as far as a user is selecting a range before starting a Find & Replace
it's more natural and ergonomic that the Find & Replace addresses first this area.
Ahem, ok this request looks like a 'using-Excel-for-twenty-years' one's but
seems to be interesting.
I'm sorry, I've no more vote to give on Calc. :-(
