I have tried using both the word processor and spreadsheet.  I do not know
which, in particular, is causing the problem but it renders the product unusable
because it corrupts other concurrently running programs causing failure of those
other programs which leads to a lockup.
On reboot, Windows always reports lost file fragments in 65k chunks after it
runs Scandisk.  The first time I installed it I created a spreadsheet and at
some point the app declared that it could no longer open anything I had created
with it.
I tried doing a repair; no effect.  I tried doing a re-install; no effect.  So,
it apparrently corrupted its own files in another directory.
It also blew away some of my desktop files.

I've never seen such a behaviour of OOo 1.1.x. It has never locked up any other
application or causes trouble in scandisk. I would assume that this is related
to a misconfigures system.

closed because not reproducible. I assume a defect on the harddisk
