Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 39713
Vec and delta symbol not displaying when running from a portable hard drive
Last modified: 2008-09-17 18:30:39 UTC
I am running OOo 1.1.4 off of a portable hard drive. I have the drave plugged in through the USB port and the program runs fine. The problem I am having is that I was editing a formula, and it can't seem to find some of the symbols. Specifically it can't find %DELTA or the vector arrow. I have included a screen shot. Is this because the the USB drive can't find the correct fonts from the local machine? It seems that it can find some of the greek characters, why not all? Can I add a directory to one of the paths in options to fix this? Thanks, Peter
Created attachment 20918 [details] Screen shot of bug #39713. I have included the formula it self, the output, and a picture of the catalog where you can see which symbols and it can & can't find.
TL->HDU: Since you are the font expert. Do you have any idea about his one?
Is the OpenSymbol font installed on the machine? (Start->Settings->Control->Fonts) Is the OpenSymbol font available on the portable hard drive in the OOo directory?
Please see the questions above. Also where is the Opensymbol font file relative to OOo directory?
OpenSymbol is not on the computer I am using. Where should I put it on the portable drive? Which folder?
reassign back
> Where should I put it on the portable drive? Which folder? In the OOo directory there are folders like share, program, presets etc. Add a fonts directory to share, add a truetype directory in this fonts directory and put the OpenSymbol font file there.
Pointer to somewhat related issue 51826. Closing this one.
OOo portable should come with opensymbol.ttf, this is issue 93997.
