Description finalfiler 2002-04-14 23:00:33 UTC
We generate rtf files from reports created by an application written in Delphi.
The export filters are third party and according to the author, quote, "We used
some advanced features in RTF to get WYSIWYG output of the report and these
features are only supported in Word"

However, I note that the rtf files generated this way cannot be opened in OO.o
writer. All we get is blank pages.

Not platform specific - no text on Linux too.
Clearing up the summary.

Thanks for posting this issue Pierre.

The file was probably created using this program:
{\doccomm Produced by: PsFRExportFilters V1.2 for FastReport
(www.pragnaan.com)}

I could get the file to load and display by stripping out the
following RTF code ( two instances in the file )
{\*\do\dobxpage\dobypage\dptxbx{\dptxbxtext\dpx360\dpy270\dpxsize10561
\dpysize15091\dplinehollow

Duplicated on Win NT 4.0 SP6a, OOo 1.0.1.

Reassigned to Michael.

I can see the problem, but at the moment it won't be fixable.
The export placed the text inside an Autoshape (Textfield from Words
drawing tools) and not directly on the page.
OpenOffice's RTF import/export only supports an older RTF standard and
thus is not capable of importing drawing objects from RTF files.
It is still in discussion to upgrade the RTF filter in OO but at the
moment the focus is more on the Word filter.

Closed, because Product management still discusses the need of an RTF
upgrade.
