Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 40538
Second image on page is missing
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:22:40 UTC
Two images on page that look like they are the same type, but only the top image displays.
Created attachment 21433 [details] Stripped down document containing just two images
MRU->OD: the two graphics overlap each other, though they are anchored to different paragraphs and have "no wrap".
The cause of this defect is the same as for issue 2288: An object, that overlaps with the space of a paragraph, given above or below the paragraph, causes in Microsoft Word the first resp. last line of the paragraph to wrap around the object. This isn't in Writer. I've decided to add the dependence to issue 2288 instead of duplicating it.
Configuration: Windows XP professional SP2 Build: OpenOffice.org 2.1 I observed a somewhat different problem regarding pasting an image into open office writer. I have a document in Ms 2003 which contains some images along with text. I copy entire file (including the image) and try to paste it on the open office writer. After pasting, the text appears fine. However no image is shown. Only the link to that image appears inside the empty box. If I double-click in the box, a window will pop up with some options and tabs and there I can see my image only as a thumbnail on the right hand side. Next I tied to paste an image from the different source. I copied myPic.jpg from my computer and then paste it on open office writer. This time image appears correctly. I also tried the “insert†button and form there select “Pictureâ€. Using this approach also worked fine. Therefore I observed that only images form Ms 2003 causes the problem. This problem does not occur in Ms 2003. In other words I could to copy an image from open office writer and paste it on Ms 2003 with no problem. A possible way to work around the problem is that when pasting an image to open office writer from the Ms 2003, do not just use “ctrl-v (or maybe right-click on mouse + Paste). Instead do the following: 1. From the menu tab select Edit and select “Paste Specialâ€. A new window will open. 2. In a new window, in the “Selection†list, selecting any of the choices (except “HTML format†or “HTML format without commentsâ€) and then pressing “Ok†will paste your image correctly. This problem arises due to type format when copying form Ms 2003 to open office writer. Therefore by choosing a different format (using “Paste Specialâ€) we can paste the image to the appropriate format. This problem does not exist in Ms 2003 and we do not need to use “Special Paste†when copying an image form open office writer to Ms 2003.
