Description aparan 2005-01-31 11:57:48 UTC
The organiser Tab of Page Format dialog seems to be quite redundant. It has
only limited functions. Can we do away with this tab and add a button 'Page
Styles...' which will open the Page styles organise dialog. But, at present the
'page styles' modify dialog from the stylist and the Format page dialog looks
the same. What I feel is 'page styles' dialog should have more functions like
'New style...' This would avoid clutter also. The new style could be based on
the selected style at the instance or else on the Default style. Could this be
given a thought?

reassigned to requirements.

Similarly the Footnote section could also be avoided. An issue regarding
modifications to footnotes dialog box has been filed. [41947] The advanced
settings to Footnotes could be done from this section, if required. Otherwise
the default settings for footnotes should be carried out on the Footnotes when
they are inserted.

Also frequency of use of footnotes is less compared to setting up page.
Therefore, the Page dialog could concentrate on the basic properties.

Further a 'Page Styles' button could be added for creating more page styles. A
new styles and formatting dialog is also proposed [see issue 41776].

Further another cut by removing the advanced settings of header and footer [ two
tabs viz. Header , Footer ] and placing them into a small single dialog. [issue
