Description matthias.mueller-prove 2005-01-31 15:14:24 UTC
- create (writer) document D1
- save D1
- export D1 as PDF
- open the PDF (and keep it open)
- export D1 as PDF
= This fails because the document is open in Acrobat
- edit D1
- save D1
=> This fails as well!!
=> It is even not possible to save D1 under a different name

I set the prio to P2 because the average user as no way out of this situation.

Comment 3 mikhail.voytenko 2005-01-31 16:19:44 UTC
I suspect that it is a duplicate of the issue 41733. For now I will leave it
open until the root of the problem is more clear.
Comment 4 mikhail.voytenko 2005-01-31 16:20:42 UTC
Ups, sorry. I mean this is a duplicate of the issue 41712.
Comment 5 Mathias_Bauer 2005-01-31 18:21:24 UTC
No, it's not a duplicate.
The problem was that usually after an error in "SaveAs" the DocShell is
connected to the TempStorage; in case of Export this is plain wrong and nothing
should be done. See in sfx2/source/doc/objstor.cxx

Reopening. This issue still occurs in 680m74.

As I write this, this issue is marked Resolved Fixed. The version on this bug is
680m75, but since as of yet it has not been released, it can't be confirmed as
fixed. Please let me know if I'm wrong on that point..
Comment 8 mikhail.voytenko 2005-02-04 15:34:15 UTC
This issue was marked as resolved fixed correctly. That means that the issue is
fixed in a child workspace. After that, when the child workspace passes the
testing step it will be set to verified. After the child workspace is integrated
into the master the issue will be checked by QA engeneer and closed in case of
success.
Setting back to fixed.

On my system I get:

Error saving the document Untitled1:
The operation on
<my-network-path>t.odt was started with an invalid parameter.

No saving happens.
The same error is reported on reading a file.
The problem can be repeated using OO 1.1.5.

In 2.0.4's soffice script the lines:
 SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING=1
 export SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING

are enabled by default. Disabling them allows OO to work, but
then no locking of the given file happens, that is almost as
unacceptable in a workgroup, as not being able to r/w.
