Description jcobbeni 2005-02-04 01:15:50 UTC
As I print a document I notice that at the bottom there is no space left
between the end of the text and the end of the paper. I checked the paper
settings to ensure I was using the same size as the one that was setup and it
was OK. I then tried changing the margin values but there was still no change
in the printout. I printed from an HP Laserjet and from an HP Deskjet (inkjet)
and in boh cases the result was the same. Any feedback would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you.

You entered 1.0.0 as the version of the program for which your problem occurs.
1.0.0 is a _very_ old version, is that really the one you are using?

Furthermore, does the problem occur with all documents (and with documents of
all types)? If not, can you attach a sample document which yields the problem?

I am using version 1.1.4

The problem does occur with all documents...

It would be most helpful to know if this happens in a recent developer snapshot,
like 1.9.79 or higher. Can you give that a try?

If you were to create a line of text that went all the way from the left side to
the right, then cut and paste it until you got to page 2, then printed that
document, would there be no margins on the top and bottom? It would print from
the very top edge of the page to the very bottom edge of the page? What happens
when you do the same thing in Word, or even WordPad (the notepad like
application that comes with Windows)? Can you try priniting to a different
printer (maybe its a printer issue)? In Print Layout, does OOo show borders for
the left, top, right and bottom? What about Print Preview?

I guess thats enough questions for now :)

hello jcobbeni,
as requested before please retry with a recent snapshot from
http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html

In case the problem persists please also update your HP printer drivers and
retest again. Please attach a sample document to this issue for reproducing the
problem.
