Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 42117
FIle name in cell of Spreadsheet
Last modified: 2013-09-25 14:28:41 UTC
Hello dear Helper, I would like to be able to introduce the file name into one or more cells. I would like to be able to work with this cell info as normal. 1. Go => New => "Spreadsheet" => pick cell => A1 2. => "Insert" => No choice as under "New" =>"Text Document" 3 Now try this - "New" =>"Text Document" => Insert => Fields => Other => File name. 4. This enhancement would be very benefitial under "Spreadsheet" as well. This gives the possiblity to introduce "ID" anywhere on document. It can also be "copied" into other related documents. Thank you for making this possible.

Confirmed in AOO4.0. Spreadsheet has no Insert > Fields command to access document properties such as filename, title, author, etc. See also Bug 83790.
