Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 42741
Replacing linked picture does not work
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:55:26 UTC
Create a presentation in which some pictures are imported as link (Insert -> Graphic). Make sure the 'Link' (Verknüpfen) is ticked. Save presentation, move to different location to break links. When opened again, an outlined box is displayed. Click on the box (to make sure the picture properties are taken over to the new picture), select again insert graphic, this time not linked, and insert the old graphic again. Result: Picture is displayed. So far, so good. Now go to the next slide and do the same. Return to the first slide: picture is gone, only the frame with the broken link is displayed. This is not the desired result.
Sorry, not reproducible. After returning to the first slide the picture is still there. Can you still reproduce it?
Yes, I can, just tried (this time on Windoze): If you are on the second slide and save the presentation, the picture on the first slide is gone (cant remember if bug description worked without saving in the first glace, but in the second it did)
Ah, yes, the saving was important. After altering the second slide and saving, reloading, the picture on the first page is missing.
Reassigned to Christian.
A similar behavior is described in issue 46300
Reproducible in openoffice.org-2.3.0-6.11.fc8 from Fedora 8. Below are detailed instructions at a terminal prompt, type: ooimpress click [Create] go to Insert -> Picture -> From File ... type "/tmp/test1.jpg" in the "File name:" field make sure there is a check-mark beside the "Link" option click [Open] test2.jpg image will appear on the first slide press CTRL+s type "/tmp/test.odp" in the "File name: field click [Save] to save the presentation with a linked image press CTRL+w to close the presentation at a terminal prompt, type: $ mv /tmp/test1.jpg /tmp/test2.jpg to break the link to the image in the presentation press CTRL+o to open the "Open" dialog type "/tmp/test.odp" in the "File name: field click [Open] a presentation will appear showing a broken image rectangle named file:///tmp/test1.jpg on the first slide left click anywhere within the broken image rectangle to select the image while the broken image is still selected, go to Insert -> Picture -> From File ... type "/tmp/test2.jpg" in the "File name:" field make sure there is _no_ check-mark beside the "Link" option click [Open] go to Insert -> Slide to insert a new slide everything is still working as expected go to Insert -> Picture -> From File ... type "/tmp/test2.jpg" in the "File name:" field make sure there is _no_ check-mark beside the "Link" option click [Open] at this time test2.jpg should appear on the second slide however, the first slide shows a broken image rectangle named file:///tmp/test1.jpg click on the "Slide 1" slide in the Slides pane to see the first slide having a broken image rectangle. Alternatively, you can reproduce this by: starting at the point where "everything is still working as expected" press CTRL+s to save the presentation click on slide "Slide" in the Slides pane on the right to go to the first slide at this point the first slide shows a broken image rectangle named file:///tmp/test1.jpg
I just noticed that if I follow the outlined steps up to inserting a second, unlinked image, ooimpress shows a "Linked Bitmap selected" message in the bottom left corner.
Created attachment 51371 [details] showing the undesired Linked property propogating to a new image
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
