Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 43003
Add option for line spacing measurement
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:37:31 UTC
MS Office uses point measurements for line spacing before and after paragraphs. OOo uses inches. It would be beneficial to be able to choose between inches, cm/mm (metric), and points.
You can set the measurement unit to "point" generally. This is done in "Tools.Options.OpenOffice Writer.General". But MS Office is able to handle this both without switching in Options. reassigned to requirements.

This issue has yet to be resolved. A workaround exists because pt measurements can be specified directly by typing "pt" in the measurement field, but that solution is not apparent in any way to someone using OOo as a first-time user.
