Description Unknown 2002-05-02 23:21:27 UTC
Rather than creating a new bibliographic database system, I would much rather
see a plug-in or even a separate program that formats bibliographies using
Endnote or ProCite. This would perform a search and replace for inline
references and then put the formatted bibliography at the end of the document.

Reassigned to Bettina.

I concur - Endnote is standard on a number of university campuses, and the lack of integration is frustrating, particularly on OS X.

I concur and would add that Both these products are owned by ISI which
also owns reference manager (which I use). I've submitted a
"suggestion that they develop a Cite while you write tool (CWYW) for
OO. I gave them the link to OO1.1 SDK but have yet to hear back from
them. Maybe we should start a e-mail campaign to hurry them along. You
can send a suggestion to: suggestions@isiresearchsoft.com

FYI: this is the response I received from Tech Support

"As you already know we support Word and Word Perfect. You can suggest
we add the cwyw files for Open Office, but I can't give you a time
that it would be added to the program."

If they get a bunch of e-mail to evangelize a bit that might jump
start the process.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
