Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46028
Default file format preferences layout is unclear
Last modified: 2014-02-26 15:54:12 UTC
Within the program options, the layout of the default file format settins is confusing. If I understand correctly, this is meant to allow a choice of file format for each type of document. However, the use of two side-by-side drop-down boxes is not clear: at first glance it appears the purpose of this is to create a single link between two different lists, instead of selecting an item in the second (dynamic) list for each item in the first. Too much is being crammed into too few controls. I suggest devoting an entire pane to this family of setting. This would be called 'File formats' and be listed after 'General' in the 'Load/Save' group. See attachments for suggested interface design.

Reassigned
Hi jnoreiko, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice.org... I think this is a nice idea but would require another "page" in Tools -> Options... Since this works as designed I change the issue type to "Enahncement" and reassign it to the approprate owner.
sorry, I forgot to change the issue type to "Enhancement"
