Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46436
Should create two options menus. One for normal options and one for advanced.
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:39:41 UTC
This has been a hot topic on the discuss list. It would be nice if we could create two options menus. One for normal options and one for advanced. This is similar to how FireFox is set up. There are options there, but if you type in about:config there are a lot more "advanced options". I would like to see this lind of structure added to OOo. This would allow us to keep some of the more powerful options. Things like saving the cursor position that some feel clutter things could be kept. There many other less changed options that could be put there also. I realize this is a big change and probably wouldn't be possible until 3.0. But it is something keep in the back of our minds for a later build. I think you will find that there is a lot of support for it.
One part of the conversation is here: <http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss&msgId=1741913> Another part of it spurs off here: <http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss&msgNo=46464> Thoughts?
One thing we could change has to deal with issue 1920.
