Description wichteli 2005-04-02 15:59:40 UTC
using OO v1.9.87

i opened a powerpoint presentation with impress and started a slide show.
I was surpriesed to see, that all the images, that were properly displayed in
the "developement view", were rastered somehow.
like on a chessboard there were unsharp squares next to relatively normal
lookung ones.its not too easy to discribe, just look at my attachment.

Comment 7 wichteli 2005-04-05 15:15:41 UTC
trying to find a presentation, where the problem shows up, i noticed, that only
*.bmp files were not shown propperly.
Comment 8 wolframgarten 2005-04-05 15:33:36 UTC
The rasterization that is visible seems to be some moire effect resulting from
the structure on the picture. I have the same effect if I convert it to jpg.
It is only a mtter of the zoomfactor if it is visible or not. I do not know why
PPT does not show the effect but I am not sure if this is a fixable bug.
Comment 9 wolframgarten 2005-04-05 15:34:30 UTC
Anything to be done about this, Sven? Thanks in advance.
Comment 10 sven.jacobi 2005-04-15 15:21:02 UTC
sj->thb: as you said, the moire effect is the result of a not filtered downscale.

This Issue requires more information ('needmoreinfo'), but has not been updated
within the last year. Please re-test with one of the latest versions of OOo -
the problem(s) may have already been addressed. Either use the recent stable
version: http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
or consider trying the new OOo 3 BETA (still in testing):
http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/

Please report back the outcome so this Issue may be closed or progressed as
necessary - otherwise it may be Resolved as Invalid in the future. You may also

It seems we have a more general description for that problem in Issue 107278.
Can you please check whether the problem of this issue really is the same
(especially: problem also visible in DRAW, WRITER, CALC)?

Until results of further investigation and proof of contrary I mark this one as
"depends on"
