Description gpheitkamp 2005-04-08 01:55:10 UTC
I opened a PPT file in OOo 2 Beta, SO7, SO8, and MS Office 97. Only the MSO97
diplayed the file in an acceptable manner. All OOo based products only played
the music for a few bars then stopped. MSO97 played throught the presentation.
Futher, the MSO97 was smooth in all phases of the slideshow and even allowed
clicking for the next slide while a slide was being displayed with instaneous
response. All of the OOo based were jerky, slow to display and respond.

I do not know the origin of the PPT file as it was an attachment (2888 MB) from
a friend who had received it from others in a chain or forwards. It may make a
good test case to use. Send me instructions to forward it to you if you would
like it.

When I opened the PPS file from the email attachment, SO8 Beta grabbed it (as
expected) and I saved it from the SO8 Beta session. Then I opened it using
MSO97 which gave a fantastic display, complete with music the whole time. Then
I opened it with SO7 which gave a very jerky presentation. Finally, I used OOo
build 79 which I first used today. I hoped the OOo 2 Beta would do justice to
the presentation, but I was sorely disappointed.

Reassigned.

Please tell me with which PPT version this document was created.
I Think it was not PPT97 because there are some customanimation when I start
this presentation with PPT2003.
Comment 5 christian.guenther 2005-04-11 13:22:12 UTC
In this documents are 2 issues.
1) the sound is playing on the first slide only. -> This is a not implemented
feature and not a bug.
2) The bitmap fillings in the ellipse are cropt wrong. -> this is a bug which is
fixed in the meantime (m91).

I change the issue type to Feature.
Comment 6 christian.guenther 2005-04-11 13:25:38 UTC
Change owner to requirements.
Comment 7 christian.guenther 2005-04-11 13:29:20 UTC
We need the feature to play a sound over the whole presentation and not only for
1 slide.
