Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 47675
letters above 60p and in frames horizontally displaced on pdf-export
Last modified: 2005-10-11 14:47:29 UTC
I'm having this since 680m91 (since transparency works). In a single-page A3-document with large letters (above 60p) some letters are strongly horizontally displaced. I tried both Tahoma and Arial, the text is placed in frames. I don't know how to submit odt and pdf- document, contact me if wished. Best .r.

->pl: Please, have a look.
pl->hdu: i think you already are working on that ?
Overflow in WinGDI when dealing with font with sizes bigger than 10000 pixels. Probably resolution of the reference device used for PDF export is too high. Issue is related to #112783#.
Was not able to reproduce it on SRC680m91 or SRC680m93 yet...
same with 1.9.95 Best .r.
same with 1.9.100 Best .r.
Since the reference devices like high resolutions the problem with the huge pixel height fonts becomes more important. The point where the WIN32 platform seems to get problems is about 9000pixels, so to stay on the save side we should emulate font metrics when the pixel size of the font gets bigger pixel sizes than e.g. 4000 pixels.

Your attachement converts well to .pdf in my environment (680m104), yet other texts still show the same behaviour. I will send three attachements to demonstrate. Best .r.

Fixed in CWS vcl39.

cool, when will we users see it? In 2.01 only or allready one of the next betas? best .r.
> your attachement converts well to .pdf in my environment (680m104) The conversion in m104 wasn't so good: In the PDF you provided the letter L is mispositioned and the even huger letters M and N are missing. Also the complex text from the document is missing completely. You could see the missing text by selecting all, then change the fontsize to something small. The PDF export of your new sample docs looks good with the fix :-) I'm afraid the fix/QA/integration/xxx will be not ready for 2.0, sorry.
But thank you anyways, cool project, that open office is. Best .r.
