Description kvanque1 2005-04-23 14:49:11 UTC
When using a mouse with scrollwheel one cna move the mouse over one of the
toolbar formatting comboboxes (style, font and font size). If one moves the
scrollwheel while the mouse is placed over one of these boxes the value in the
box will change accordingly, however nothing will happen to the text, selected
or not. This mean that if one does this will writing (no text selected) the
values will stay changed and therefor not match the formatting one is writing with.

Currently you have to apply the selected value by using the "Enter" key. Maybe a
change of attributes "on the fly" could be something to think about.

I do not belive this issue to be an enchantment. Your idea is an enchantment
however, it is quite confusing for a user that one can have "Thordale" and
"18pt" selected in the toolbar wile the text written is "Verdana" and "12pt".
That is possible in my current build, if an "on the fly" change ain't
implemented someone should at least implement a reset function so that the
toolbar will adjust to the formatting options which is being used.

Ahh i just installed m95 and did a checkup. i when rereading your answer that i
might not have expressed myself entierly clear.
MY issue is that i, without clicking the mouse, is able to change values in the
text formatting comboboxes on the toolbar. The fact that i don't click the mouse
means that the openoffice focus is kept somewhere else in the document and the
changed value can't even be confirmed by pressing enter since that will just
make a new line in the document or change to the next cell etc. However the
changed value will stay selected in the combobox (this is not the case if i
forece focus on the field by clicking the mouse before i use i scroll wheel).
This means that the value show in the combobox will writing is not the value
used by openoffice.

I belie your answer applies to the functionality if the user focus the combobox,
before using the scrollwheel. However my issue is concered about the effect if
the users doesn't click the mouse and therefor doesn't focus the combobox.
