When I open the spreadsheet documents I usually need to copy a table
into another application, i.e. email etc. However, the tabular area
is not copied in a formatted form.

When I do the same with Excel, it copies the table contet in formatted
form, including table, cell borders and text formats.

Tried it and found that Mozilla gets the structure of the table and the content
but not the formattings.

It's ok under windows XP.  With mozilla on win2K it's only ok if you select 
from the <table> tag until the close </table> tag (you can see this with the 
DOM Source of selection).
