Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 48872
Handout: Header and Feat error
Last modified: 2005-07-08 17:34:42 UTC
I tested it with OOo1.9m100 from Pavel Janik: I opened a new presentation. Put in two slides with titel and a textbox. Next I go to handout-view. I take a layout for the handout. Next step: I printed the handout to a ps-file (test3.ps). There are only a number of the page on the printout. Second: IS opened the menu "view - header and feat". I choose header, date (fix)and a very long text in the header, also I chose a feat with a short text and a nummer of the page (test4.ps). Third: same as second, but date variable (test5.ps) Fourth: same as third, but chose no header (test6.ps) I think, there are a heavy problem in the code to produce handouts.

Hello andreasma, I can't see any problem with test3.ps. I see two slides in the page. Could you clarify what is the problem?. Thank you.
Please attach the document to reproduce the bug.
In the test3.ps are only shown a number of the page in the footer. In the dialog of head and footer there were also a short text in the footer and date fix. But I don't opened the menu view - header and feater and only print the handout to a file.
The document to produce the bug: I can't find the document anymore. But it was only a test-presentation with to slides from the templates of OOo. A slide with a title and a box and another (filled text in the boxes); nothing special. I think, OOo crashes a little bit later and I lost the document.
andreschnabel -> andreasma: could you test with a more recent built? I just tested with m113 (german localized, WinXP) and could not reproduce the problem. But I remembe, that exactly this problem occured with some older builds (I saw it on LinuxTag) If the problem still exists, please attach a testcase (presentation file). If not, please close as "WORKSFORME"
lowering prio to 3, as we have no crash or data loss
I tested again: In the handout-view header and footer are OK. I am able to put a text in the header and the footer. Also the date (fix) and the page are present in the print-output. Also the variable-date works now for me. Problems I see, if I put a date in the header of the slide (the other register of the header- and footer-dialog. This date is always present in the output. I am not able to change this to off. See the new attachment. System: OOo1.9m113 on SuSE 9.3 KDE 3.4.1.

I hope, that helps. The former bug are in my opinion fixed. I am not able to work on this problem in the next two weeks because I am on holiday. If You need some more informations, contact me when I am back.
well .. I see the date in your printout. But without the .odp file I cannot tell what you are doing. If I try to verify the problem, all works as expected. I'm closing as worksforme therefore. If you think, the problem still exists. please reopen the issue and attach your presentation file.
