Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 48976
Importing a PowerPoint file does not give correct numbering on lists.
Last modified: 2008-10-17 12:20:42 UTC
When opening a PowerPoint file, OOo Impress does not import numbered lists with blank items as PowerPoint does. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create (in PowerPoint) a slide with a numbered list. 2. Skip a line by pressing enter twice after an item, and type some more text. 3. The first item will be numbered 1, the second item will be numbered 2. 4. Save this file and open in OOo. 5. The first item will be numbered 1, but the second item will be numbered 3. (Being new to this system, I left the Priority at default, and the Issue type at DEFECT. I am using OpenOffice.org v1.9.95, AKA 2.0 Beta)
Reassigned.
Hello I attach a PowerPoint file which hopefully illustrates the numbering incompatibility problems between PowerPoint and OOo. The problems happen when there is a blank item or an unnumbered item. The text in the file explains the different behaviour of PPoint and OOo. This issue is also present in OOo 1.1.4, as described in issue 48554. Maybe both issues should be considered the same one. Hope this helps.
Created attachment 26062 [details] 1 slide PPoint file
set to new and change the target.
I can reproduce the bug. I think there is already an issue for this behaviour but I can't find it. Please have a look.

Because of a too huge workload I can't fix this issue for OOo 2.01 -> changed target to OO Later.

I am pretty sure that this is the same problem as Issue 56719. It is not necessary to go through PowerPoint to reproduce the problem.
