Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 49033
manual subscript and superscript settings for selected characters
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:29:37 UTC
If you turn off automatic subscript/superscript setings and enter some values manually it works (the issue about automatic seting not working is filled in another report) but for the whole word, even when I highlighted only some characters. I would like to have different setting for different characters. I'm using Draw 1.9.98-1 (polish version from http://www.ux.pl/openoffice/?page=download) on Windows XP (also polish).
This seems to work for me. I will attach a file where I have different settings in one word. Isn't that what you wanted or did I miss something?

You are right it is something more subtle. I will attached a file where I wanted to write * to -1 factorial and set the subscripts/superscripts. When I highlight -1 go to the Possition tab and change the setting to authomatic (to do this you have to change form superscript to normal and back - to make the checbox enabled, I've already reported this as another bug) visually the * will move down (but it's setting do not change). You can easilly observe this using undo/redo. I think that changing the settings for -1 should not effect * possition. Maybe this is connected to the bug 49032?

You are right it sometimes work and sometimes not I was not eable to trace the reason. Though I attach an example. I've created an empty Impress presentation. I've choosen title slide layout and entered some text as a title (for example "hello"). I've higlighted part of the text ("hel") and set the subscript. Nothing optically happened, but the text should be in subscript (although the in 100% size). You may also want to open the Possition tab again and change the option from subscript to superscipt or normal, and back again. The % values will change. Streangly enough the values for subscript and superscript are not the same. I'm ussing OO 1.9.122.
When I have the text selected and open the character dialog it is already subscript though it is not in reality. Subscript and superscript seem to not have an effect.
