Description delphivip 2005-05-11 11:34:10 UTC
Import of ppt file seems to not import shape names.

If you have a ppt presentation that was created in powerpoint, and a macro
created the shape names, the shape names are lost when you open the presentation
in impress oo2 (m100)

Can you attach a bugdoc, please? Thanks in advance.
Comment 2 delphivip 2005-05-11 11:43:23 UTC
Sorry, what is a bugdoc, and how do I create one?

Thanks
Comment 3 wolframgarten 2005-05-11 11:57:23 UTC
Sorry for expressing me that shortly: a bugdoc is a document with which the bug
is reproducible. In this case this would be the powerpoint document you are
talking about. If this is not possible (maybe the doc has some internal content
not ment for public) a stripped-down document that shows the same problem will do.
You can attach it using the "Create a new attachment" function justs below the
keywords box above.
Thanks.

The attatched powerpoint also uses the tag property of powerpoint shapes to hold
some additional text. We are struggling to find what would be the Impress
equavalent?
Comment 6 wolframgarten 2005-05-11 12:20:51 UTC
Thanks for the doc. But I can only see text, no shapes. And where can I see the
shape names in powerpoint? Thank you.
Comment 7 delphivip 2005-05-11 12:30:44 UTC
Yes, is the text not a text shape? But, it is the name object of the text shape.
We don't think you can get to the name property of the shape object in power
point unless you get to it via a vba macro, which is how we actually named these
objects in powerpoint originally.
Comment 8 wolframgarten 2005-05-11 12:50:23 UTC
Reassigned to Sven. Do we import something like "name property" from ppt?
Comment 9 sven.jacobi 2005-07-28 13:54:47 UTC
sj->cl: We need to support the alien property sequence at our shapes first, when
this has been done please submit this issue back to me.

changed title.

This Issue requires more information ('needmoreinfo'), but has not been updated
within the last year. Please re-test with one of the latest versions of OOo -
the problem(s) may have already been addressed. Either use the recent stable
version: http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
or consider trying the new OOo 3 BETA (still in testing):
http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/

Please report back the outcome so this Issue may be closed or progressed as
necessary - otherwise it may be Resolved as Invalid in the future. You may also
wish to search for (and note) any duplicates of this Issue that may have
advanced further :

slipped my attention. Removing keyword as we already have enough information.

cl->sj: shapes have the alien attributes since a long time. Also we support
shape names, shape title and shape description. Maybe this has already been
implemented? Please have a look
