Description avagula 2005-05-11 13:06:41 UTC
I have problems with Unix-style copy/paste.
I selected in both Linux and Windows the option "Mouse middle button pastes
clipboard contents".
and, it pastes only content from other open windows (text selected with mouse),
equal from OO.o or not, but it does not paste text selected in the same document
window :)

Reassigned to ES.
Comment 2 eric.savary 2005-05-11 15:18:57 UTC
I cannot reproduce it.
Please describe step by step what you do (add a sample document if needed).
Please indicate which distribution you use.
Comment 3 avagula 2005-05-11 15:34:21 UTC
Open single textdocument (may be new). Write word (in the same document). Select
word with mouse. Move to next line, press middle mouse button (in the same
document!). Nothing appears.
Same procedure BETWEEN documents works fine.
Also reproduced in m102, installed some minutes ago.
Used Windows XP and SuSE 9.3, also an other user confirmed this bug, dont know
on which environment.
Comment 4 avagula 2005-05-11 15:53:09 UTC
arghh!
I found this out... when I bring cursor in other place, the original text will
be unselected and therefore it is not pasted. Is this normal?
When pasting from other applications, it does not matter, is the text visually
in selected state or not.
Comment 5 eric.savary 2005-05-12 10:31:26 UTC
Of course! You have to proceed as following:
- select the text
- directly click with the middle mouse button on the target area *without
clicking with the left button first*.
IS that what you do?
Comment 6 avagula 2005-05-12 12:13:42 UTC
ok, I understand - but is this good idea to clear 'mouse' buffer immediately
after unselecting text? Maybe were better to keep the content until next selection?
And - when text is selected, I cannot use direct cursor for 'aiming'. ?
Comment 7 eric.savary 2005-05-12 14:04:16 UTC
ES->Requirements: when a text is selected it is not possible to use the direct
cursor.
Comment 8 eric.savary 2005-05-12 14:16:58 UTC
->vagula: please file another enhancement for keeping the selection buffer after
deselection

This Issue requires more information ('needmoreinfo'), but has not been updated
within the last year. Please re-test with one of the latest versions of OOo -
the problem(s) may have already been addressed. Either use the recent stable
version: http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
or consider trying the new OOo 3 BETA (still in testing):
http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/

Please report back the outcome so this Issue may be closed or progressed as
necessary - otherwise it may be Resolved as Invalid in the future. You may also
wish to search for (and note) any duplicates of this Issue that may have
advanced further :
