Description valdisvi 2005-05-12 11:13:47 UTC
Following the spirit of odb file as container for all necessary things for
database, it should be possible to store macros in*.odb file. Currently as
workaround could be storing macros in form (embedded writer file), but it make
things unclear and narrows possibilities.

Hi,

I reassign it to the User Experience Team for evaluating.

Bye Marc

Additionally, I see that only with macro in *.odb file and handling of
"application open" event can be implemented auto opening of some form on Base.

See related or possibly dependent issues:
- Issue 26991 = Wizard tool to create navigation buttons (open form, open
report, etc.)
- Issue 49441 = eliminate macro security question that appears due to macros
included in forms

I caused the double up 60848

Ok I was looking for the Macros common to all the forms be stored in the odb.
Because at moment for common macros I have to duplicate them on to every form or
place them in the shared directory for all documents.

Macros attached to the Database. Open a External Form attached to the database
its able to access the Macros of the database. Able to share forms between
databases just by having a changes required in macros in the odb file.

Hi,
I have a user on one of the French n-l lists asking for the very same thing. The
ODB documents are not portable if macros can not be transferred along with the
document, and since most automated things can only be done with macros in Base
at the moment, it would be a "must have" if we are still trying to wean people
off Access/Approach/FMPro.

Is anything happening here ?

Not really. I lost two months or so beginning of this year :(
I hope to finish the feature in a not-too-distant future, but speaking strictly,
feature freeze for OOo 3.0 is over. I will try to get an exception, but have no
idea how realistic an expectation this is ...
Comment 15 Frank Schönheit 2008-05-22 14:08:49 UTC
given the feature freeze for OOo 3.0 passed a while ago, I move this out to 3.1.
