Description goc 2005-05-13 10:02:47 UTC
Hello,

I have a number of OOo versions installed in parallel, most notably also more
than one version of the upcoming 2.0. In fact, I don't use the 1.1 version much
anymore, and also have my personal data in the 1.9.x profile(s). When I install
a new 1.9.x version, it asks me to transfer the personal data from an 1.1.x
version, but not from any 1.9.x version.

I'd like to see the settings transferred from an 1.9.x version, or possibly be
offered which version I'd like to transfer from.

Just (again) experienced with 1.9.100.

Thank you!

I think it's to much effort for developer versions. The migration tools must be
able to handle all incompatible changes in the configuration files

ok :/

I have the same problem.

I find it annoying that I have to have to re-enter the data every time I install a new update.

How much of the settings have changed??
If there is no or little change, there shouldn't be much of a problem.

OS should include Mac OS X, possibly all. Not checked Windows XP.
Eric B's 1.9.107 & 1.9.93 have this.

Another option would be to look at having different version being able to use the same settings files. Of
course this may cause other problems.
