Description sps3000 2005-05-24 18:33:31 UTC
When a hyperlink to another document is clicked, a hyperlink security warning
appears and the help button suggests that this is to do with macros in the
target document. However, the warning appears whether or not the target has a
macro, and none of the configuration settings for macros
(tools->options->security)remove the warning.
The warning appears even when the hyperlink is used to navigate between
documents that are already open, and this can be a major hindrance to the flow
of OOo based programs. A simple checkbox to disable the warning dialog for local
files would address this issue. Alternatively a more detailed configuration
utility on the lines of that in OOo 1.1.4 could be used.

Reassigned to ES.

ES->SBA: Security warnings and options. Please have a look.
Comment 3 stefan.baltzer 2005-06-24 16:53:29 UTC
SBA: Same in OOo Build 1.9.112. Confirmed.
I will change the summary because the option to turn it off is not the case, but
the warning itself.

SBA: This warning makes no sense. Further evaluation shows that...
(1) The warning does NOT occur, when an .ODT file is opened via internet
(http://) URL link (But "the internet" is normally more "dangerous" that the own
file system...)
(2) The warning does NOT occur, when .SXW files are opened via file URL link.
(=> inconsistent)
(3) The warning did not occur in OOo 1.1.4 (=> Regression)
(4) The warning appears even if the other document is already opened (this looks
stupid :-)
(5) The help link to the help entry "Security warning" (that refers to macros)
makes no sense in this situation.

SBA: Target set to OOo 2.01 because the warning is a regression (reference: OOo
1.1.4.) and it is a hinderance that has no workaround.

SBA ->CJ: You were involved in the security feature iTeam.
In my opinion, this warning should simply not appear. Please proceed.

CJ -> FL: I think this task fits better into your area. Could you please take over?

I consider this a bug, because the hyperlink warning from OOo 1.1 got removed
for 2.0 and the warning in OOo 1.1 did not work as expected. The following spec.
covers this issue for next release in a different way: (see chapter 7.7 Normal
Writer Edit Mode Behavior)
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/security/Electronic_Signatures_and_Security.sxw

FL->PB: Please remove current warning dialog for OOo 2.0.1
