Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 49858
Napa SF font rendered fine when editing, but not during slideshow
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:23 UTC
Using 1.9.104 on Windows 2000. I have a font installed called Napa SF (I think from WordPerfect) which I have used without problems in the 1.1.x series. In Impress 1.9.104, the font looks fine in the editor (and when exporting to PDF) but during slide show the individual characters are rendered in a slightly "stretched" way, although the character cell width is unchanged. Thus, the letters start to overlap each other. I shall attach an example document and screenshots to make it clearer.

Reproducible with original font.
Reassigned.
Additional Info: I retested with 1.9.122. The problem no longer occurs now with the font when used in regular mode, but still exists when the font is used in bold mode. Since the font is a single font file, bold has to be produced by the font renderer. The editor renderer is doing the bold differently from the slide show canvas.
I'm having a similar problem: imported Powerpoint document includes Chinese characters; while editing, all text is shown. While viewing full screen, some characters just disappear or some are replaced with empty squares. On a different note, the same slideshow exported to Flash loses most (but not all) characters: they are replaced with dots, and only coloured characters usually remain. Maybe I should file a different bug on that one?
