I'm trying to create slides with Impress. When I add animation effect to text  
Fly In from Left, Text if flying. But when it stops, there is no smoothing of  
the text.

I can reproduce the bug in the version you mentioned.
Everything works greate in the latest Beta version (OOo 1.9.m104).
I change the resolution to invalid.
