Description peschtra 2005-06-10 22:36:26 UTC
I would like to be able to change the default area fill color of a shape that I
draw in Writer or Calc or Impress. Right now all shapes come up with Blue 7 (or
Blue 8, I don't recall) as the area fill color. I would like to be able to
change this.

Thanks.

reassigned to requirements

This is accomplished using default template, and changing the Default style.
This issue should be closed, invalid.

@mj -- mj, if you would, please give me step by step instruction of how to do
this so that the background of a square I draw in *Writer or Calc* comes back
with a area fill different than Blue.

What you refer to are the styles for Draw. Even if you change the default style
in Draw, it doesn't carry over to Writer.

Interestingly, even changing the color definition for "Blue 8" doesn't change
the color applied to new objects. That particular blue color seems to be wired
into the source code.

It would allow a lot of flexibility if there were some kind of "UI palette" with
colors defined for the various UI elements. Changing the color definition for
"Drawing object area fill" or "Field background" you could have any color you
like without needing a specialized configuration UI for every setting.

Not only the filling color need user level setting, colors and type of border's
shapes have to be specified too.

And, in the same spirit, title row and alternate row background of tables in
Impress, witch also came in various blue, need user level configuration.

It's visible for users and so, it's a real inconvenient for OOo.

Hello
I have a book more than 600 pages in LibreOffice, not being able to have default parameter in drawing elements is really a pain !
