Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5068
Function Keys to select styles
Last modified: 2003-11-01 04:06:21 UTC
The user should be able to set up the F-keys to select styles. There should also be a default for this. (there are some F-keys already used, but these could be changed). The main styles needed would be Default, quotation and title (F2, F3, & F4?). - style selection between these three would become far faster.
JA->FT: reassiged as RFE to you... JA: I don't believe it is a good idea to define those function keys in a fixed way. I think it might be better to have styles freely configurable. Someone might think ablout this.
I guess I wasn't clear: I don't want the key definitions fixed, I just want some way to quickly get to some styles (I'm remembering AmiPro which had text styles as the F-keys) and so I wanted to be able to set it up like AmiPro had. (just put the styles in the Configure/Customize/whatever it's called menu and it'll be enough for me)
I also think this would be a tremendous enhancement to OpenOffice and a very desirable one. BTW, Lotus WordPro has this feature for years. Allowed keys are F2-F9 and F11-F12, but I believe there's no apparent reason to limit the options to the F-keys.
This seems to be nearly the same request as issue #4686, only extended to whole OOo.
