Description aviel 2005-06-16 13:52:49 UTC
when pasting some draw object from OO.org-Draw into OO.org-Writer, the object
apears correctly on the Writer window. However, when trying to save, a pop-up
window opens, saying 'unable to save', 'error occured', or sth like this.
Sometimes the application craches.

When pasting as "Paste Special", chosing "Draw 8", save succeeds.
Choosing "Drawing format", save fails again.

an example of a draw object is will be attached.

WOW!
Half cause found:
- in Draw insert a Draw object (Ex: rectangle) and an OLE-Object (Chart, Formula)
- Group them
- copy paste into Writer
- save
- Error as describe and crash when attempting to close, reload or othe action on
the document.

In OOo 1.1.4 one of the grouped object was lost when pasting because it is not
(UI) possible to create such groups in the Writer.
Now both object

yeap. should have guessed that it is the OLEs (Formulas) that make the problem.

SBA->OD: As discussed, I strongly propose target OOo 2.01 for this one. Being
unable to save after an "innocent" action like copy-paste is a painful
experience of data loss -> Target changed to OOo 2.01.
The duplicate issue 48180 indicated that it occurs on Windows, too -> OS set to
"All".
Comment 8 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2005-08-03 12:34:29 UTC
defect cause:
Currently the Writer doesn't support pasting of a multiselection and/or group of
drawing objects, which contains embedded objects - see OOo 1.x. Embedded objects
have to be copied and paste one by one. Thus, on paste all embedded objects are
deleted from the clipboard data. This deletion was by accident removed.

proposed solution for OOo 2.0.1:
Re-activate the deletion of embedded objects from the clipboard data for paste
into Writer.

fix in progress in cws swqbf35.
Comment 9 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2005-08-03 13:48:59 UTC
fix in cws swqbf35 - changed file:
/sw/source/core/frmedt/fecopy.cxx, 1.33.92.1
Comment 10 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2005-08-22 09:26:39 UTC
OD->ES:
Checked in internal installation set of cws swqbf35 - please verify.
