Description Unknown 2002-05-21 06:07:37 UTC
There should be some way to not only display the equation for a trendline, but also to cast it
backwards and forwards. Often when charting experimental data, it is useful to find the slope and
x or y intercepts.

This issue is defintely a must. It should be implemented as soon as
somebody has the time. I'm give my vote.

Comment 5 IngridvdM 2005-04-14 15:02:33 UTC
reopen this one because the duplicate is a much to huge container bug - this one
can better be handled because it concentrates on a single feature.
Comment 6 IngridvdM 2005-04-14 15:04:07 UTC
->bm: Please take care of this issue.

accepted as a feature task for implementing the extrapolation of trendlines
(regression curves)

I voted for this issue, but resolving the problem that is brought up in the
duplicate issue 90692 is far more important to me. Extending trend lines beyond
the range of data plotted in a nice feature, but extending trend lines beyond
the plotted data is statistically inappropriate in most cases. I would suggest
that plotting the trend line so that it does not extend beyond the plotted
values should be the default.
