Description richfly 2005-06-19 19:19:46 UTC
When I insert a picture into a table cell, either by using "Insert" or by drag
'n drop, the picture does not adjust to fit the cell. It stays larger, over the
whole table, and has to be shrunk to fit.
Comment 1 Regina Henschel 2005-06-19 20:03:32 UTC
My system is OOo1.9.104 on WinXP German.

If I insert a picture by "insert", it shrinks to cell-width.

If I drag&drop a picture into a cell, it depends on the width-property of the
picture. If it is set to relative 100%, it will shrink. If it is set to an
absolute value, it will stay in that width. I think that is no defect, but I
expect that behaviour.

If I cut&paste it, an insert as "bitmap" leads to the same behaviour as insert
from file, and insert as "svxb" leads to the same behavior as drag&drop.

Please tell us which version you use and which operating system.

I'm using standard jpg picture files, and OOO m-109. I don't understand about
"width-property", but I don't get your response when I use "insert". It doesn't
seem to insert at all, just covers the table, until I click on the right-hand
bottom corner to shrink it down.

I have used jpg too. For the width-property click on the picture, go to format
--> picture... --> tap "type". In the part "Size" you can check "Relative". Then
you can enter a percent in the "Width"-field. The width of the picture will then
depend on the cell, frame or section, in which the picture is anchored.

Click on the picture and then look where you find the little grey
anchore-square. If it is in the cell, the picture is anchored to the paragraph
inside the cell, although the picture itself is not inside the cell.

Also works fine on my m109. The graphic's size will be adpted to the cell width.
it sounds like, that the graphic is anchored outside the table. For such a
graphic covering a table, thare are already issues available.
