hi axel,

>>Openoffice: OOo_1.9.109_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz installed with YAST
so i guess it is a SuSE build and packaged version, not our responsibility

you may try with the openoffice.org "vanilla" build to retest:

I've tried to reproduce with my Suse 9.3, also with KDE 3.4 and a downloaded
version from http://ftp.stardiv.de/pub/OpenOffice.org/developer/680_m109/. No
problem to start OOo m109. Have you checksummed the downloaded file?

Hello,

I decided to reinstall my Suse 9.3 from scratch and not to change anything
during installation.
Now it's working perfekt!

Sorry for taking your time.
I assume that the problem was connected to my Nvidia driver, because during
first installation I updated this driver and tried to optimize display
settings before I started any applications. I also fiddled around with font
settings before.

Best regards

Axel Berchtold

PS: Yes I checksummed the files . Was ok.
